‘Crystal Cities’ by Jagannath Panda opened at the Vadehra Art Gallery on the 19th of August; it will be open for viewing till the 12th of September.
Through this body of work, Panda comments on the dynamics of large cities / urban spaces. Through his work he endeavours to comment on the rapid change taking place in these urban spaces, which have an impact on nature and humans. He explores his concerns with urbanisation and dislocation, social and economic injustice, and shifts in cultural paradigms. He uses fabric, toys, found objects and other materials to weave his story onto the canvas.
The exhibition, Crystal Cities travels to the Bhau Daji Lad Museum in Mumbai, from 27 September to 29 October, 2017.
